The specially developed absorber suspension is designed for the secure and thermally decoupled mounting of massive B4C absorbers in front-end assemblies of particle accelerators. The structure, which appears delicate but is highly durable, is engineered to provide maximum mechanical stability, thermal separation, and vacuum compatibility with minimal material usage.
A distinctive feature is the robust mounting plate with four holes on the left end where the boron carbide absorber is suspended. The entire assembly is optimized for use in high-radiation and ultra-high vacuum environments.
Mounting and thermal decoupling of B4C absorbers in front-end beam shielding
Support structures for thermally sensitive components under vacuum
Mechanical and thermal isolation of high-energy absorbers
The absorber suspension is a highly functional custom construction for the safe mounting of B4C absorbers in front-end systems. Featuring advanced joining techniques, low-particle processing, and a thoughtful choice of materials, it is ideally suited for applications with extreme demands on cleanliness, stability, and thermal insulation. REUTER’s integrated know-how ensures maximum operational reliability and minimal outgassing.
