The Base Radio Frequency Test Box is a high-precision testing environment for 1.5 GHz couplers used in particle accelerators. The test box meets the highest standards for tolerances, cleanliness, and thermal and mechanical stability, enabling testing and calibration of couplers under cryogenic conditions.
The design includes around 20 individual parts joined by high-temperature vacuum brazing and TIG welding. Combined with the cryo tank, it forms a complete test system for high-frequency applications.
The test box is specifically designed to analyze RF couplers used in superconducting particle accelerators. Integrated into a closed cryo and vacuum system, it enables testing under realistic operating conditions—with high repeatability and documented performance.
Thanks to its sophisticated design, the test box is ideally suited for RF measurements in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environments and at temperatures down to 4 K. This allows simulation of real-world conditions in superconducting resonators and testing for thermal stability, leak-tightness, and reflection performance under operational loads.
Its modular design allows both prototype and series parts to be qualified under standardized conditions. Manufacturers and research institutes can assess performance, leak-tightness, and material behavior under full load—during development or for quality assurance.
The Base RF Test Box with cryo tank is a custom-built testing solution for high-frequency couplers under real-world conditions. Using state-of-the-art joining technologies, cleanroom production, precise material processing, and customer-specific customization, it delivers top-tier technical performance and reliability.
