Microplasma welding features a much smaller heat influence zone compared to TIG welding. This is achieved by additionally bringing an ionized gas to the arc, which constrains the arc. The microplasma welding procedure enables especially thin-walled welding seams (also sheet thicknesses) and allows high welding speeds. Due to the low elongation of the heat impact zone, the thus welded components exhibit only small distortions.
